If you’re looking for a fun day out with your dog, Beaufort County has four dog parks to choose from!
Dog parks are a great way to socialize your dog and let them burn off some energy. Our local parks allow dogs to get ample off-leash exercise, while giving pet parents a comfortable, outdoor outing. All of the parks are open from dawn until dusk, and they offer plenty of space for your dog to run around and play. In addition, each park has a different set of amenities, so you can find the perfect one for your needs.
Chaplin Park Best Friends Dog Park on Hilton Head Island:
Their Facebook Page puts it well. Its tagline is “A place where dogs and their owners can mingle, tinkel and chat.” This dog park has everything you need to keep your furry friend happy. There are spaces for both small and large breeds, with fenced-in areas that provide ample space. Water fountains make sure they stay hydrated while enjoying some good old fashioned frolicking. Large live oaks and pines provide plenty of shade for all pups and their parents. Chaplin Park Best Friends Dog Park is a part of Chaplin Community Park, near Burkes Beach, off of William Hilton Pkwy. (Hwy. 278).
The Bluffton Dog Park at Oscar Frazier Park:
The dog park offers three different sections to suit the needs and size of your pup. One area is just for small dogs, another larger one (greater than 40 pounds) that can accommodate bigger breeds as well as senior pets who might need more care when they play outside together. The Bluffton Dog Park is in the Oscar Frazier Park in Old Town Bluffton at 77 Shults Rd.
The Southside Dog Park
The Southside Dog Park offers a .48 acre area for small dogs and an additional 1.07 acres to large breeds, making it the perfect spot in town where your pup can run around without worry about their size! The entire park is surrounded by beautiful oaks as well as Spanish moss providing shade from hot summer suns rays while you enjoy some leisure time together. There’s also water fountains provided in case any pooches get thirsty during their adventure at Southside Dog Park. Southside is located at 2705 Waddell Rd., Port Royal.
Burton Wells Dog Park
The Burton Wells Dog Park is part of Burton Wells Passive Park. It offers two fenced areas. The left side is dedicated for smaller pooches, while the right area is larger ones. Both lead into lake for the dogs to have a watering hole. Bring chairs, as there are no benches and a bowl with water jug to fill up from the fountain. The park has both shaded and sunny areas for comfort for you and Fido in every season. It is located next to the basketball courts and a little down the road is a children’s playground. It is also next to a paved walking path around a 9 acre lake that allows canoes and kayaks from launching dock! The Burton Wells Dog Park is located in Beaufort at 118 Burton Wells Rd.
