The pickleball program at Palmetto Dunes began four summers ago, and has taught approximately 3,000 people how to play pickleball.
Here are a few of my pickleball observations about this game with the funny name and why it has become so popular:

1. Pickleball is easy to learn.
I have seen countless individuals, couples and families, regardless of age or gender, go “all-in,” deciding to make this game part of their active lifestyle.
2. Pickleball is addictive.
It is not uncommon for pickleballers to play five to seven times a week. If you’re wondering which endorphins are responsible for this behavior, I can sum it up in a simple series of three letter words: FUN, FUN and FUN. You simply can’t be on a pickleball court without having a great time.
3. Pickleball is a great social activity.
If you’re looking for an avenue to meet people with a commonality, try your hand at pickleball. You’ll meet the nicest people, of all ages and from all walks of life, who you will quickly learn to call your friends.
The Palmetto Dunes Tennis and Pickleball Club invites you to give this game with the funny name a try… and you can make your own pickleball observations. We have daily clinics and round robins to get you playing and to keep you playing.
