The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra offers a program of instruction for highly motivated and talented young musicians who play violin, viola and cello.
This program will expose students between grades eight and twelve to a wide variety of musical experiences, including the opportunity of working closely with our newly appointed HHSO conductor, John Morris Russell and orchestra musicians, along with the privilege of attending rehearsals and concerts of our International Piano Competition contestants.
Interested students and parents will be interviewed after submitting an application and video audition. The performance application must have a video of two contrasting works of your choice which represent your highest level of performance.
Hilton Head Chamber Music Institute (HHCMI) provides an intensive training program focused on the art of small ensemble playing. Designed for outstanding young musicians from across the United States who possess a strong focus on chamber music performance.
The highly individualized program encompasses coaching, masterclasses, one-on-one instruction, special workshops.
The program culminates in a professional performance experience at SoundWaves. SoundWaves is the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra’s new, state-of-the-art Island headquarters. Hilton Head Island hosts artists from around the world for numerous, year-round cultural activities.
