For six years, the Italian Heritage Festival has brought fun, family and great food to the Lowcountry. Hosted by the Italian-American Heritage Club, the Italian Heritage festival proceeds are donated to a local charity from around the Lowcountry area every year. The Italian-American Heritage Club does host and sponsor other events such as the Italian Summer Dinner, ZinFest, and “Italian Open” Golf Tournament that are scheduled throughout the year.
With a grape stomping competition, as well as pizza making competition, the Italian Heritage Festival brings cultural awareness and fun to the Lowcountry area at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn.
Rain or shine, the festival continues with lots of fun, live entertainment, food, games, and over 4000 visitors each year. Family friendly, but please, no dogs or other animals.
If you are interested in joining the Italian-American Heritage Club, they hold weekly open meetings on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. at Flora’s Italian Cafe. Any questions should be sent to club President, John DeCecco at (401) 524-1416.
