History of the Distillery
The Hilton Head Distillery was founded in 2016 by brothers Joe and Tony Dawson. The Dawsons combined their love for fine spirits and their desire to create something unique for visitors to the Island. They converted a former warehouse into a state-of-the-art distillery, using traditional techniques combined with modern technology.
Products Offered
The Hilton Head Distillery takes pride in small-batch spirits. They use locally sourced ingredients and pure water from the Lowcountry.
Their current product line includes:
- Vodka: Made from South Carolina-grown corn and has a smooth, clean taste.
- Rum: Handcrafted using molasses, resulting in a rich and flavorful spirit.
- Whiskey: They offer a variety of whiskeys including bourbon, single malt, and rye styles.
- Gin: Their gin is infused with botanicals for a refreshing and aromatic flavor.

Distillery Tours
Visitors to the Hilton Head Distillery can take a behind-the-scenes look at our production process on one of their distillery tours. You will also have the opportunity to taste our products and purchase them at our on-site store.
Tasting Room Experience
Our tasting room is a cozy and inviting space where you can sample their spirits in a relaxed atmosphere. Our knowledgeable staff will guide you through our product line and offer suggestions for cocktails and mixers. We also offer small bites to complement your tasting experience.
Events and Private Parties
The Hilton Head Distillery is available for private events such as corporate gatherings, birthday parties, or bachelor/bachelorette parties. Their event space can accommodate up to 50 guests, with options for customized tours and tastings.
