A new tradition for the Lowcountry was born in 2016 on St. Patrick’s Day Eve: The Mary Green Men’s Chorale Irish Music Concert! This year they will return to Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, March 16, 2017 to present, “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.” The group of auditioned singers and professional instrumentalists performed to an overflow audience and received a standing ovation.
Continuing the success of last season’s sold-out St Patrick’s Day concert, this year’s program will include Irish favorites through the centuries, including Lord of the Dance, Danny Boy, The Minstrel Boy and Irish Washerwoman, along with a special tribute to Irish composer Victor Herbert. Joining the Men’s Chorale are soprano Laura Sutton Floyd, tenor Michael Schwartzkopf, flutist Lorraine Jones, David Kimbell on guitar, cello and bass and accompanist John Martin Marks.
