One of pickleball’s most significant events of the year, The APP Sunmed Hilton Head Open, will be contested at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort from October 26-30, 2022.
This is a ‘Golden Ticket’ qualifier for amateurs and pros with a $65,000 prize for the winners. All gold medal winners will have pre-registration for the 2023 USA Pickleball Nationals in Indian Wells, California.
All 10 top ranked women pro players are attending, including these Top 5 women: #1 Jorja Johnson, #2 Andrea Koop, #3 Anna Bright, #4 Simone Jardim and #5 Vivienne David. And 4 of the top 5 Women’s Senior Pros are attending: #1 Beth Bellamy, #2 Julie Johnson, #4 Nathalie Bagby and #5 Helen Wilhnelm.
All 10 top ranked men pro players are attending, including these Top 5 men: #1 JW Johnson, #2 Zane Navratil, #3 Dylan Frazier, #4 Dekel Bar and #5 DJ Young. And all the top 5 Men’s Senior Pros are attending: #1 Rick Witsken, #2 Mircea Morariu, #3 Paul Olin, #4 Mattias Johansson and #5 John Sperling.
The Palmetto Dunes Pickleball Center will be the epicenter of the pickleball universe and will serve up a perfect way to watch some high-level pickleball. Spectators are allowed to come into the venue at no cost on all days. A stadium court pass for $10 (plus $2.24 service fee) grants access to both championship courts.
