The Coastal Discovery Museum will host Danna Smith on April 20 at 2 p.m., for this program. Most people know that transitioning away from fossil fuels toward renewable energy like solar and wind power is vital to addressing climate change. In the last five years our region has become the global leader in exporting wood pellets as “renewable” fuel for generating electricity in Europe. Join us and learn why our Southern forests are so important and what you can do to help protect them. Smith is the founder and Executive Director of Dogwood Alliance, an award-winning nonprofit organization focused on protecting Southern forests.
Cost is $7 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-676 ext. 223 or www.coastaldiscovery.org/calendar. The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island.
