The Mary Green Chorale, an auditioned ensemble of 30-40 voices, will present Sacred Songs & Spirituals, 7:30 p.m. concert at Holy Family Catholic Church on Pope Ave., in Hilton Head Island. Sacred Songs & Spirituals on Tuesday, February 19 will celebrate Black History Month. The evening of festive hymns and songs of faith for men’s, women’s and mixed voices moves from the mystery of Gregorian chant through masterful arrangements of beloved hymns enriched by Linda Hamilton at the organ. Jazz vocalist Reggie Deas will narrate James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s Trombones” and add his incomparable style to a host of well-known spirituals, including “Deep River”, “Amazing Grace” and “Lift Ev’ry Voice”. marygreenchorale.org.
