On Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 at 4 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at 8 p.m., the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra presents “Lowcountry Pops: A Gullah Celebration” at First Presbyterian Church.
This evening will feature music, stories and dance celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our Lowcountry. There will be a blend of local artists and the return of the much loved soloist Kisma Jordan to celebrate the music of our region. You will hear the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the Savannah Children’s Choir, and see the Hilton Head Dance Theater perform, along with Natalie Daise’s adaptation of Prokofiev’s ‘Peter and the Wolf’ – ‘Isaiah and de Gatah’.
The concert will be conducted by Music Director and Conductor John Morris at Hilton Head’s First Presbyterian Church. There will be no pre-concert talk by the conductor before this concert. A reception for the performers, orchestra, and audience will follow Monday’s concert in the church’s Gathering Space.
Concert tickets are $30, $45 and $55. Reduced matinee prices are available for children with their accompanying parent. For more information about Lowcountry Pops: A Gullah Celebration, call the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra at (843) 842-2055 or go to their website, hhso.org.
