The Low Country Kappa Delta Alumnae Chapter is once again hosting a benefit Beach Walk starting at 10 a.m., on Saturday, March 14 at Coligny Beach Park on Hilton Head Island.
The sorority’s sixth-annual Beach Walk will benefit CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association) of Beaufort. A minimum donation of $10 per person is suggested.

For the first time, several local businesses and individuals are sponsoring the Beach Walk for CAPA. They have already pledged nearly $1,000. The sponsors are The Boathouse, Rose Hearing, SERG, Branches, Kate Yachini of William Raveis Realty, and Kappa Delta member Julie Quarles and her husband Bill.
The Beach Walk is the latest in a series of fundraisers the Low Country Kappa Deltas have held to benefit CAPA and Prevent Child Abuse America. In the past 15 years, the Low Country KD Alumnae Chapter has raised thousands of dollars for the local non-profit which serves families in Beaufort County with residential and outreach programs. CAPA programs also raise awareness about child abuse and its effects on the community.
The upcoming fundraiser on Hilton Head is part of National Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Project initiative in support of Prevent Child Abuse America. Thousands of KDs in hundreds of communities nationwide host Shamrock events in March every year to raise money for national and local child abuse prevention efforts. To date, Kappa Deltas have donated more than $26 million to prevent child abuse in our country.
