On Dec. 7, 2016, head to the Coastal Discovery Museum, located at 70 Honey Horn Dr., for the Loggerhead Sea Turtle Nesting Program at 3 p.m.! The Loggerhead Sea Turtle Nesting on Hilton Head Island presentation will focus on loggerhead sea turtle nesting habits and conservation efforts on the Island. Amber Kuehn of the Hilton Head Island Sea Turtle Protection Project Manager will discuss the obstacles this endangered species faces on a populated beach including light pollution, nesting habitat destruction, litter, boating hazards and predation. A PowerPoint presentation will be utilized to clearly define these examples with photographs and videos. This program is sponsored in part by the Kroger Foundation.
