Leo’s Legacy 4th Annual Family Fun Day Festival and 5K will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. at Oscar Frazier Park, 77 Shults Rd., in Bluffton. The event includes a 5k race, silent auction, jumpy houses, cornhole tournament, games, food, drinks, live entertainment from local bands and a mac & cheese competition. There is a $5 entry fee for the festival.
This family-friendly event raises money for local scholarships and other charities. Leo’s Legacy was created in honor of Leo Vannoni. Leo was 7 years old and had just started second grade at Bluffton Elementary School when he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012. After a long, strong fight, Leo lost his battle to this disease in February of 2014. Leo’s Legacy was created to give back to the community by raising funds for scholarships to Beaufort County graduating seniors, as well as for youth recreational sports scholarships.
Registration for the 5K and cornhole tournament is available online at leoslegacysc.com. Restaurants interested in competing in the Mac & Cheese Competition can email amy@leoslegacysc.com.
