Join us at the Coastal Discovery Museum on March 29, 2017 at 3 p.m. to learn about Colonial Nesting Birds of South Carolina Seabirds and Wading Birds. The loss of just a few nesting sites can impact the entire species in South Carolina. Historically, several wading bird colonies supported more than 10,000 nesting pairs. Following our work with the endangered Brown Pelican, the SCDNR expanded their work to include additional seabird species. Tom Murphy, a retired biologist with SCDNR, will share his knowledge of the natural history of these birds.
The cost of the Colonial Nesting Birds of South Carolina Seabirds and Wading Birds program is $7 per person and reservations are required by calling (843) 689-6767 ext. 223 or online at coastaldiscovery.org.
