Everyone in the Hilton Head area is invited to any and all Christmas events planned at Providence Presbyterian Church. In addition to regular Sunday 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services, the church plans an Oyster Roast with Advent Walk and Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the event with children under 12 at $4. There will be a Christmas story walk, crafts for children, a bonfire, Christmas tree lighting and caroling. The location is the back campus Retreat Center at Providence, which now has a large pavilion and activity building near the Chapel in the Woods, in addition to the property being developed for community athletic and fellowship activities. Sunday, December 15, has a single service at 10 a.m. featuring Dr. JooSoo Sun and the Providence choirs with instruments. Brunch follows the service with everyone invited. On Christmas eve there are two services: 4 p.m., Family Nativity and 6 p.m., Candlelight Communion, both in the sanctuary. At the Family Nativity all children are welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to become a part of our annual “live manger” during the service.
