May 16: Art and Environment After Hours! Herbarium Workshop – $45 per person ($15 program + $30 materials). An herbarium is a systematically arranged collection of mounted, dried plants that can be used as a reference. In this workshop, join 3 local artists to create your own decorative and educational herbarium using locally found materials, hand-made paper, illustrations, and poetic prose. Materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own plant material to use. Presenter, painter Mira Scott, conceptual illustrator and paper artist Mary C. Leto and writer/poet Elizabeth Robin will lead the class. Coastal Discovery Museum Staff, Natalie.
5-7 p.m. Appropriate for ages 10 and older (unless otherwise noted in the schedule). Minimum of 6 participants, maximum of 20 for all programs. Only registered paid participants will be admitted into this program. If participants are planning to bring a child, chaperone, spouse, driver, etc. they must also register. At least one adult must accompany each group.
