August 8: A Day at the Beach – $15 per person – Explore the beach…without actually going to the beach. Discover the wide variety of fascinating critters that you can find on the beach. Learn about what lives in those beautiful shells you find. Investigate the lives of beach visitors like sea turtles and horseshoe crabs. Discuss the importance of the beach habitat and how you can protect our local beaches. All participants will receive a picture frame to decorate with your own beach treasures. Bring your own beach treasures to use…other decorating supplies provided by the Museum. 5-7 p.m. Appropriate for ages 10 and older (unless otherwise noted in the schedule). Minimum of 6 participants, maximum of 20 for all programs. Only registered paid participants will be admitted into this program. If participants are planning to bring a child, chaperone, spouse, driver, etc. they must also register. At least one adult must accompany each group. Programs will be held in the Discovery Lab at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (843) 689-6767 ext. 223 or coastaldiscovery.org.
