October 10-November 23: The Office of Cultural Affairs for the Town of Hilton Head Island and the Arts Council of Hilton Head will hold its eighth Annual Crescendo Celebration of Arts & Culture this year. This regional event, organized in honor of October’s National Arts and Humanities month, highlights, and showcases the vast array of arts, culture and history organizations, individual artists, performers, and authors residing and working on Hilton Head Island. Crescendo features more than 100 unique arts and cultural programs, concerts, theatrical productions, museum and gallery exhibits, lectures, poetry readings, dance performances, historical tours, hands-on arts experiences, and educational offerings which are estimated to attract more than 10,000 people from all over the United States, Canada and parts of Europe. - October 14: The Annual Crescendo Kick-off Celebration, marks the beginning of a month-long showcase of arts and culture and takes place at Shelter Cove Community Park, 39 Shelter Cove Ln.
- October 16, 23 & 30: The Crescendo Songwriters’ Series host free concerts featuring songwriters and original music. Phoenix Mendoza, performs October 16; Matt Eckstine, performs October 23; Songwriters in the Round featuring three artists performs on October 30. 5:30-7:30 p.m. Each event takes place at the Lowcountry Celebration Park, 94 Pope Ave. Food trucks and beverages will be on the site.
