City Market’s New Year’s Eve Celebration
From 9 p.m.-1 a.m. explore all that Savannah’s City Market has to offer. Live outdoor music will play throughout the evening, starting at 9 p.m. Restaurants will be open for drinks, appetizers or a full dinner (reservations may be required). Plus, stroll through the market’s shops and galleries to view handmade gifts and art from local artists. This event is free and open to the public.

Savannah Riverboat New Years Eve Party Cruise
Grab tickets for A Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, 9 p.m.. at the historic Savannah Theater. The two-hour variety show “Savannah Live” will get you in the dancing mood with a live band and professional cast performing pop, jazz and Broadway hits. Then kick off the New Year with a champagne toast and dance party until after midnight!
Tybee Island Fireworks
Just a thirty-minute drive from the heart of Savannah, Tybee Island is a fun alternative for a New Years’ celebration. Bring in 2020 with your friends and family on Savannah’s beach with a bang! Enjoy the New Year’s Eve Fireworks show launched from Tybee Island’s Walter W. Parker Pier and Pavilion at the stroke of midnight. The celebration can be observed from the beach around the pier as well many of Tybee Island’s restaurants, night spots, and even privately on some hotel balconies. It promises to be spectacular for all!
Annual Up the Cup on River Street
We all know the famous ball drop, but here, we’re proud of our open container policy and like to celebrate with the annual “Up the Cup” on River Street. The Savannah Waterfront Association puts on this fun twist on a New Years’ classic with Wet Willie’s countdown of a six-foot to-go cup raised over Rousakis Riverfront Plaza. At midnight, you can toastwith your own cup and watch lively fireworks over the river.
The Morning After New Year’s Eve
Still looking for some excitement? Look no further than the Tybee Polar Plunge. Join locals and visitors alike at the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion at noon for a brisk dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12.
Start off the New Year with a Skidaway Hike
Start your New Year’s Resolutions on the right foot with a day hike on one of Skidaway’s popular trails. The Avian Loop Hike is a 2-mile walk through open grasslands, marshes and creeks. And the Sandpiper Loop trail crosses bridges and heads westbound to pass earthworks constructed by Confederate troops during the Civil War. Both trails provide a stunning scene of natural wildlife and a peaceful escape from the rest of the city.
