March 10: “Go Beyond the Notes” with the Metta Quintet, a critically acclaimed resident ensemble of JazzReach, is on stage at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. This tight-knit unit features some of today’s most esteemed artists, driven by a collective curiosity and a dedication to arts education. The Quintet challenges convention by commissioning new works and creating immersive, live multi-media concert programs that expand the boundaries of the jazz experience. From their debut recording, Going to Meet the Man, inspired by James Baldwin’s stories, to their globally themed project, Big Drum/Small World, the ensemble relentlessly pursues the ever-broadening sound of jazz.
