Outside Hilton Head Expands Stand Up Paddleboarding with SUP YOGA!

Outside Hilton Head today announced that they have added a new activity to their comprehensive menu of outdoor pursuits. Stand Up Paddle Board YOGA.

Paddle Boarding offers an exciting, new way to experience the water for a leisure paddle or enjoyable workout. Using a canoe type paddle and standing atop a larger version of a traditional longboard surfboard, paddlers push themselves through the water with side to side strokes. Some people even compare this experience itself to “yoga on the water”.

The boards themselves are large, stable and comfortable- basically a floating yoga mat. Outside Hilton Head is now offering regularly scheduled SUP yoga classes at Shelter Cove Harbor and Marina AND ON the May River at Palmetto Bluff. The Shelter Cove location offers a calm-water venue in a protected basin that the SUP yogi’s have named the “buddha bowl”.

Yoga instructor, Amber Shadwick, leads the yoga classes. Amber is a fitness and yoga professional. She has years of experience providing instruction to both groups and individuals. Her list of certifications include and are not limited to, ACE Stand Up Fitness; 200-RYT; ACSM Fitness, Wellness and Health Coach; as well as AFAA Group Fitness Presenter and Examiner. She has received a national reputation for her quality and personal style.
