Just before Christmas makes its way to Hilton Head Island, Santa stops at the Shelter Cove Community Park to meet and greet kids at the Winter Wonder Festival, which not only has moon bounces, carnival games, hayrides and face painting for kids to take part in, but also tree decorating, a Children’s Elf Parade and Golden Candy Cane Hunt.
This kid-centric festival is all about enjoying the holiday and having fun. It all kicks off in the afternoon with the Children’s Elf Parade before the choirs and dance schools take the stage, and ends at night with hot chocolate, a campfire and s’mores.
Kids can meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, sit on Santa’s lap, tell him about their Christmas wishes and get their photos taken all throughout the Winter Wonder Festival and enjoy everything from kettle corn and donuts to pizza and hot dogs at the food booths set up all around the park. And with a canopy of lights draped over the road leading to the park in the Shelter Cove Towne Centre, families can now enjoy the Dove Street Festival of Lights as they leave the Winter Wonder Festival.
