August 4–8: Main Street Youth Theatre Class Offerings! IT’S FOSSE! Part I – 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., intermediate to experienced level dancers (experience with jazz and/or theatrical dance) – $100 for the week. FOSSE for Beginners Part I – 12:30-1:30 p.m., beginner level dancers – $65 for the week. Fosse Part I courses will focus on the work and iconic style of award-winning choreographer, Bob Fosse. It will include a warm –up and a bit of threatrical history. The students will learn a full piece of Fosse repertoire, either “Rich Man’s Frug” from Sweet Charity or “Dancin’ Man” from Dancin’ depending on the experience level.
LEARN YOUR PART! Scene Study – 2-3:30 p.m., ALL Levels – $100 for the week. Scene Study will be an examination of contemporary published plays. The first day will focus on oral interpretation and the book-work approach to scoring a scene. The remainder of the week will be spent directing and perfecting the work. The students will leave with an understanding how to approach a script, memorize dialogue, react genuinely to a scene partner and get a scone up on its feet. Classes require a minimum of (5) registered students and a maximum of (15) per class. Classes are held at Main Street Youth Theatre, 3000 Main St.
