August 11–15: Main Street Youth Theatre Class Offerings! IT’S FOSSE! Part II – 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., intermediate to experienced level dancers (experience with jazz and/or theatrical dance) – $100 for the week. FOSSE for Beginners Part II – 12:30-1:30 p.m., beginner level dancers – $65 for the week. Fosse Part II will delve deeper into the stylization of the theater jazz movement created by Bob Fosse. The pieces chosen will now incorporate song and voice and deal with the demands that come with handling both elements.
To Be Or Not To Be, A Shakespeare Experience – 2-3:30 p.m., rising 7th to 12th graders only! – $100 for the week. The Shakespeare course will be much the same as the scene study course, but we will be using scenes from the folios of William Shakespeare, The first day will be a book-work focused day to learn scansion and scoring and scoring a Shakespeare scene – including iambic pentameter. The remainder of the week will be focused on the acting and memorizing of the text. All classes will end Friday with a final presentation which parents may attend. Classes require a minimum of (5) registered students and a maximum of (15) per class. Classes are held at Main Street Youth Theatre, 3000 Main St.
