On November 20 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the Coastal Discovery Museum will host a “Holiday Market”. Roland Washington from “We Island” will feature his gumbo and offer samples for tasting and purchase. Food samplings from Lowcountry Produce will be available for purchase as well. A sweetgrass basket display and demonstration will feature local Gullah islanders. Other local artists will include Gillian Horsley with nature themed gifts, Marquita Willis with Gullah Art and Rose Willis with jewelry. The latest exhibit in the gallery “Daufuskie Island Artisans” will be open for the public to enjoy. Book signings with local authors Patricia Bee, Elizabeth Belenchia, Sallie Ann Robinson and Jenny Hersch, Roger Pinckney, Elizabeth Robin and many more will be here for your holiday gift buying. Gifts for a case will include “Adopt-A-Nest”, “Adopt-A Dolphin” and Coastal Discovery Memberships. After spending time inside the Museum, you can wonder the grounds for the Public Art Exhibit and view 19 sculptures presented by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.
