The Coastal Discovery Museum will host Dr. Mary Socci on March 13, 2019 at 3 p.m. for this presentation. One of the most interesting antebellum plantation owners in Beaufort County was Henry Hartstene. His Greenleaf Plantation was located along the May River and today is bisected by the drive into the Village of Palmetto Bluff. Socci will talk on Hartstene, his plantation, and a surprising connection to the White House.
Socci is the Palmetto Bluff archaeologist and received her master’s and doctorate from Yale University. She has been with Palmetto Bluff since 2004.
Cost is $7 per person and reservations are required by calling (843) 689-6767 ext. 223 or coastaldiscovery.org. The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Dr.
